DEMOCRACY DAY MESSAGE
I salute everyone especially my dear people of Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwara Federal constituency. It is nationally known that you are a people richly blessed with potentials. Some of such potentials that are quickly noticeable are humility and loyalty in followership. Your unalloyed respect for constituted authority is unparalleled even though it has been abused and taken for granted.
I salute you at this very critical stage of our political quagmire. I respect your spirit of tolerance even in the face of the severest leadership insensitivity unknown to our clime. I bring you a message of hope of better days which are almost here.My message today will only breath life if you choose to end fiefdom.
You are the architects of your fortune as it is. As we mark our Democracy day, may we regurgitate the ugly pass, prevaricate our intentions, and our actions that have tended to keep us perpetually down. We need to be intentional and actionable at the same time.
We need to deploy reasonable actions that are capable of transforming the last vestiges of backwardness into giant strides of growth and development.Beloved Constituents, The world has left us behind. They have advanced far ahead of us just because we have refused to reason beyond mundanity and parocchiality. We can make it this time around if we shake off the pettiness that limits our comprehension and punctuate our drive to greatness. Democracy is a government by the people and they ought to be no clear cut difference between the leaders and the led as we have been variously treated like destitutes even in our own land.
We have been alienated from governance as if we are illegitimate interlopers. Our patrimony have been depleted into nuclear family possession and decimated inconceivably. We can not continue to be shot out of governance like lepers from others. We can not be treated like the serfs under a serfdom.
We can bring down this conspiracy between the modern day aristocrats and vassals masquerading as Democrats but indirectly reducing the rest of us to peasants bound by manorial servitude.I wish to conclude by engaging your sensibilities to reject any form of political hypnotism and resolve to be politically informed and self determined to change the narrative from a decadent political perspective and process to a more righteous and independent choice making during leadership selection processes.
Do not mortgage your fortune for a plate of porridge like Esau did. Your vote is your power use it wisely.May God bless us and grant us the serenity to discern between good and bad leaders. Chief Amb. Peter AkpankePDP HOR CandidateObanliku/Obudu/BekwarraFederal Constituency.
