The leadership of organised Labour in Cross River State branch as spearheaded by Comrade Benedict Ukpepi, acted childish and unprofessional to think they can suspend the Labour Party Chairman Ambassador Osim Ogar with their antics and gloomy sightedness. Their actions are established on baseless facts.
We all are aware of the fact that the acceptance of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Obi and his running mate Dr. Sen Yusuf Datti has been a worrisome issue in the cabal of some set of person’s who’ve sworn to perpetually remain in power till death do them part, and such persons are out to witch-hunt any body who has the capacity to unseat them and can do any thing humanly possible to truncate the success of any preferred person (candidate) waxing strong. So I’m not surprise by the unruly action of Comrade Ukpepi and his cohort.
However, it doesn’t mean an entire forest will disappear because one tree is hewn down, out of the 76 support groups willing and ready to support the party no matter the cost, if one of the group (Cross River State Labour Congress) chose to exclude it self because of selfish reasons that has no substantial bases, fine and good, trust me we’ll still scale through to get the mandate of convalescing Nigeria for the betterment of all.
I wish to also remind Organised Labour in Cross River State that the are only a support group saddled with the responsibility of mobilising only civil servants for Labour Party, and not to assume the position of making decisions and going as far as conducting screening for the aspiring candidates, abandoning the sole responsibility of looking into the welfare of workers which is considered expedient in a state like Cross River.
I’m the Liaison Officer of Yakurr II Niger Delta Youth Parliament as well as the Labour Party Chairman Yakurr Chapter and I was privilege to grow under the tutelage and mentorship of the then Ag National President of Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Elder Comrade Onem Nelson Onem of blessed memories, I’ve never for one day witness such rascality and misconduct, rather he exclude him self from political involvement to embolden his firmness on things that has the tendency of promoting workers (teachers) welfare.
I therefore call on all well meaning members of our dear party and the general public to jettison and ignore the misleading press release of Organised Labour into the trash. As it was nothing but the handiwork of delusional mischief-makers who will stop at nothing to fan the embers of disintegration for pecuniary gains if allowed to.
Comrade Osim Ogar is a competent leader committed to winning elections at all levels come 2023 and not ready for collapsing of party structures to make money as the feel it should be.
Labour Party Cross River State Chapter is too big to be small!
