
Asuquo Ekpenyong, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial candidate for Southern district of Cross River State on Sunday Chaired the 2022 Annual Harvest and Thanksgiving of the Duke Town Presbyterian Church.
The church which is the first Presbyterian Church in this part of the country was packed full with worshipers and those on the entourage of Hon Asuquo Ekpenyong who all celebrated and thanked God for his blessings and protection in the last one year.
Ekpenyong in his speech to ,flag -off the annual harvest admonished Christians to always trust God in whatever circumstance they find themselves because he is always ready and able to salvage any situation.
He said no one gives to God and loses because he is the rewarder of those who trust and cast their cares on him
“Everyone here should sow a seed bountifully and God who turns wilderness to fruitful fields and fruitful fields to be counted for forests will bless him abundantly.
“Last year I sowed a seed here and this year I became the Senatorial candidate of APC and I am going to sow another seed here today and by next year God has already placed me where I will be”
Ekpenyong, whose speech was greeted with loud applause said increase, expansion and progress are the hallmark of the blessings God has for his children added to that Cross River State is blessed and will continue to be reckoned with in the comity of states making giant strides in the country.
On the entourage of Hon Ekpenyong were: Chairman of Odukpani local Govt Area Mrs Justina Edem, Commissioner for Tourism Development Mr Eric Anderson, Mayor of Calabar Municipality Efefiong Nta Eke, Chairman of Biase Local Government Area Mrs Ada Charles, Cross River State Accountant General, Mr Stanley Nsemoh, and a host of others.
