In the Day 2 of the PDP Cross River North campaign tour Yesterday, the wards of Bassang, Bisu, Bishiri North and Busi, in Obanliku local government area, came alive as the Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River North continued its campaign for the 2023 General Elections.
The team was led by Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, incumbent Senator and Senatorial candidate for Cross River North Senatorial District alongside Candidate For Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency, Amb. Peter Akpanke, Obanliku State Constituency House of Assembly candidate, Chief Ashiaka, other party candidates; Barr. Godwin Offiono aka Goffio (Candidate For ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency) , Barr. Omang Charles Omang (Candidate For Bekwarra State Constituency), Hon. Rita Agbo Ayim (Candidate for Ogoja State Constituency), Dr. Paul Ebiala(Candidate for Yala I State Constituency), Dr. Martins Achadu (Candidate for Yala II State Constituency), party members.
In Bisu Ward, the team was received by the Chiefs and traditional rulers, HRH Adabah Gabriel (Uchua Isu) Clan Head of Bisu Nation, HRH Amos Item, HRH Pius Ushen and Elder Francis Ayike. HRH Gabriel Adabah in expressing his appreciation for the efforts of Sen. Jarigbe, said, “ I love young men who have lion hearts. You are blessed and you are loved.”
In Bassang ward, the traditional rulers, led by HRH Tony Kukah, Chairman, Bassang Traditional Rulers Council, gave their blessing to all the candidates, pledging to work towards their election into office. A somber moment was experienced by all, as they remembered the late Dr. Joseph Wayas and a minute’s silence was observed in his memory.
In Bishiri North, the people likened the All Progressives Congress (APC) to darkness and despair that enveloped the ward and recognized the PDP as the light, in form of electricity provided by Senator Jarigbe Agom. They expressed optimism, hope and belief in all the candidates and pledged to give them their support at the polls.
