Royal Soccer Splash 2022 Ended in Praise with a kickoff by APC Cross River South Senatorial Candidate, Asuquo Ekpenyong.
One of the organizers of the tournament, Pastor Thomas Effiong Okon eulogized the APC Senatorial Candidate for making out time from his busy schedules to attend the grand final.
Asuquo Ekpenyong in his response disclosed that Sport will form part of his core mandate to enhance youth development in Cross River South Senatorial District.
He explained that ‘the idea was to positively engage the youths to move away from social vices and use their time for sporting activities, since an idle hand, they say is the devil’s workshop’.
According to him, “since the youth age category is full of energy, we must encourage them to be positive. This tournament will discover new talents and promote them to limelight, especially those with special interests in the game of football”.
Meanwhile the APC Senatorial Candidate Congratulated Ward 12 for emerging Victorious in the tournament while praising Ward 5 for their resilient and show of commitment to win the game even though the victory went the opposite side. He donated prize gifts as his support for the tournament.
The Royal Splash Football Tournament featured Ward 9 slugging it out with Ward 12 in the grand finals which the later emerged Victorious.
