As political parties prepare for the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday gained more strength as Barr. Godwin Offiono aka Goffio, the Party’s Candidate for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency received royal blessings on behalf of other Candidates, from the Eastern-Yala Council of Chiefs in Okuku Town Hall, Yala LGA.
Barr. Goffio formally presented himself to the Chiefs and expressed his readiness to serve meritoriously following the footsteps of Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom. He went down memory lane, reminiscing on his journey and the effectiveness of the chiefs’ prayers thus far.
The Council of Chiefs alluded to Barr. Goffio’s struggle so far and his contribution and that of his late Father to the development of Yala generally. The Chiefs declared their total support and offered prayers for Barr Goffio, wishing him and his Party (PDP) success in the 2023 general elections.
Before the meeting with the Council of Chiefs, Barr. Goffio met with the Clan head of Okuku kingdom, HRH Ogamode Odaji Ipuole and his Elders in council where he was endorsed and prayed for, on behalf of all PDP candidates.
In separate meetings, Barr. Goffio and his team also met with Cross River North Entertainers Forum and Some Support groups at the residence of Madam Angelina Lifu, in Okuku Yala LGA. The entertainers pledged their total support for Goffio and all PDP candidates.
Some members of one of the support groups, Great Igboezue Progressive Movement who were members of the APC, officially dumped the APC for PDP, burning their brooms in total liberation from the APC bondage.
Other groups include, Democratic Visionary Movement for PDP, Ayeko Women For PDP, Great Ladies Support group of Ayeko, New vision Support group and Ayeko Youth support Group, also declared their unflinching support for Barr. Godwin Offiono, Senator Jarigbe, and all PDP Candidates.
In the team were, Goffio Campaign DG, Pastor John Naku, Dr. Raphael Ogar Oko, Mr. Idagu Oluohu, Mrs. Angelina Lifu, Mr. Friday Odey Jandan, Hon. Timothy Okwoche Obstacle, Mr. Alfred Otis and a host of others.
