Yesterday, the depleted camp of the APC was dealt another heavy blow following the mass defection of its members to the PDP as the candidate for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Barr. Godwin Offiono aka Goffio honored an Invitation from his maternal Clan, Ayi-Egbudu Ekpo, Olachor, Okpoma-Yala LGA where he received royal blessings and endorsement. Barr. Goffio who was accompanied by Dr. Raphael Oko , Hon Sylvanus Akra and some other PDP stalwarts, briefed his people of his House of representatives ambition as well as the readiness of the PDP to consolidate on the track records of Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.
The Chiefs of Ayi-Egbudu Ekpo Clan and the entire Olachor community, unanimously endorsed Barr. Goffio as their own and other PDP Candidates. They promised their overwhelming support for PDP in the 2023 general elections, considering the purposeful representation of Sen Jarigbe as against the deceptive Leadership of APC in Cross River State.
The incoming MP and his Team also met with the Clan head and King of Okpinya kingdom, HRH Ogamode Adoga Ipuole and the entire people of Okpinya community in Okpoma. The King commended the PDP for considering Okpinya important to visit. He prayed and wished the Party well in their 2023 outing. Mr. Eddy Odama, Hon. Augustine Omachi Otubala and the entire people of Okpinya Kingdom pointing to Senator Jarigbe’s (PDP) project; Solar street light, promised their total support for PDP in 2023. The team took a tour round Ikor Market where Barr. Goffio, a son of Olachor, encouraged the market masters to release land to interested persons to build and expand the market since the market still have enough undeveloped space. Himself and Dr. Raphael promised to contribute their quotas to the development of the market.
Still in Okpoma, the Team paid a courtesy visit on Engr. Joseph Arimathea at his Ochubi-Olachor residence and was treated to a warm reception before proceeding to Ijegu Ojor.
In Ojor, The Chiefs offered prayers and promised PDP of their fervent support.
Barr. Goffio told the people of Ijegu Ojor that, the Party is well prepared to offer genuine representation following the foundation laid by the Cross River North Senator, Sen. Jarigbe.
The team witnessed mass defection of APC members to PDP in Ijegu, who were received by Barr. Goffio, Dr. Raphael Oko, Hon. Sylvanus Akra and the PDP Chairman of Ugaga ward, Mr. Onah Friday. They encouraged them to continue to work tirelessly for PDP because they’ll certainly be a pay day.
Odey Possible Odey who spoke on behalf of the defectors, stated that they defected to the APC on the mantra of change which has turned to chain. He said the APC Cross River State Government led by Gov. Ayade has failed woefully because since the inception of his government he has not made any reasonable employment, pension not being paid, no promotion and other social amenities. They resolved to work assiduously for PDP to emerge victorious in 2023.
The entire people of Ijegu Ojor also reassured their full support for PDP.
