Undoubtedly, Yala 1 State Constituency has witnessed its worst period in the past 7 years and 5 months in all ramifications. No thanks to the imposition of unqualified candidate on the people of the Constituency. The signs of ineptitude and failure were conspicuous in the first 4 years, but sentiments, sympathy and political equity (garnished by streams of crocodile tears) squeezed a 2nd term for the present occupant. She has not fared any better in the past 3 years and 5 months. And the good people of the Constituency are the greatest losers as no one can point at a single Constituency Project executed by her nor boast of quality representation by her. What a misfortune!
This is the same character that is being foisted on the Constituency for a 3rd term bid as compensation for agreeing to defect with the ’emperor’ to the APC! If one good term deserves another, can we say the same of 2 terribly bad terms? The answer is a capital NO.
Yala with its sophistication and flood of intellectuals deserve much more than the ilk of the present occupier as its representative in the House of Assembly. Law-making is not an all-comers affair, it is for serious minded persons with content; one cannot give what one does not have.
Conversely, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presents a round peg in a round hole for that position in the person of Dr. Paul Ebiala Esq – a consummate Legal Practitioner of over 20 years standing, a former Law Lecturer per excellence with a Ph.D in Law, a two-time National Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association and the immediate past Chairman of the Calabar Branch of the Association, just to mention but a few. A teacher of Constitutional Law himself, he requires no tutoring in the art of law-making and would be a great asset to the Legislative House. As a kind-hearted and People-oriented personality, he would attract enormous democratic dividends to the good people of Yala 1 State Constituency. Surely, for the first time in a long while, Yala 1 Constituency would have a representative it can be proud of.
Constituents of Yala 1 State Constituency, you have a choice to make between an intellectual of inestimable content and an inept and non-performing opportunist come 2023. Make no mistakes about it, vote Dr. Paul Ebiala, Esq as Member, CRS House of Assembly; roundly reject 3rd term bid and the joker being brandished to dislocate the age-long political understanding of the Yala people.
Vote wisely.
