Yesterday, 20th November, 2022, the city of Calabar witnessed crème de la crème epoch making wedding as political and traditional leaders, well wishers, etc, graced the marriage Solemnization between Princess Lydia Onah, Daughter of the Paramount Ruler of Yala LGA Kingdom, His Royal Highness Ogamode, Onah Ipuole and Mr. Francis Peters, younger brother of a Cross River State Critical Stakeholder and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), High Chief Higgins Peter, at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Esien Town, Calabar, Cross River State.
The epochal marriage celebration has amongst others, the number one citizen of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade CON, Governor of Cross River State who happens to be a bosom friend of the Groom’s Elder brother, High Chief Higgins, ably represented by his Deputy, HE Prof. Ivara Esu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Martin Orim, APC Governorship candidate, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, Father of the Bride, HRH Ogamode Onah Ipuole, his dear wife and Yala traditional Rulers Council, High Chief Asuquo Ekpenyong Snr., Yala LGA Chairman, Hon. Fabian Ogbeche and His Vice, Mrs. Felicia Undelikwo, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, APC State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Regina Anyogo, Present and Former commissioners; Hon. Rita Agbo Ayim, PDP candidate for Ogoja State constituency, Hon. Stella Oreme Odey, Hon. John Ulafor, Bekwarra LGA Chairman and his dear Wife, Dr. Josephat Owan Emekah and Mrs. Lucy Owan.
High Chief Higgins Peter while addressing the press, dedicated the marriage to God Almighty and congratulated the couple on the landmark occasion. He commended first and foremost, the Governor of CRS and other attendees who despite their busy schedule turned out to celebrate with his family. Chief Higgins encouraged the couple to respect each other, share absolute love and affection for one another because, by the union today, they have become one indivisible body that must live and care for each other at all time. He promised his Continuous Support morally and otherwise.
The Couple, after the reception at Event 45, Douglas Avenue, State Housing, Calabar, CRS, appreciated all the dignitaries for their delightsome support and attendance. They thanked those that contributed hugely in kind and cash to the success of their wedding, particularly, the Governor of Cross River State and the Groom’s Elder brother. The groom while commending his elder Brother, Chief Higgins for his continuous support for him and the entire family, equally appreciated his Father in-law, the Paramount Ruler for accepting him to marry his beloved and beautiful daughter. They prayed for journey mercies to all that travelled far and near to honor them. The couple promised each other absolute love and care.
The groom also Seized the opportunity to laud the state Governor for his continuous support for him and other young Cross Riverians especially for finding them worthy of working with him as appointees.
