As the 2023 general election draws closer, political alignment, endorsement and planning has taken the centre stage. The Ukelle Youths under the auspices of UKELLE NATIONAL YOUTHS FORUM ABUJA yesterday, paid a courtesy visit to the incoming Member of Parliament, Barr. Godwin Offiono aka Goffio, the PDP candidate for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency at his Abuja residence, to declare their support for him and all PDP candidates.
The Executive members of the group led by Engr. Chima Udu on behalf of other members of the group, formally endorsed Barr. Offiono and pledged their unalloyed support for him and the entire PDP family promising to mobilize, campaign, provide campaign materials and also mobilize votes.
The group lauded the track records of Barr. Goffio that has contributed hugely to the peace and unity of Yala, community development and so on. According to the group, “Goffio is a visionary leader that respect and listens to his people regardless of their status and societal influence, he has the best offer for the good people of Ogoja/Yala Federal constituency, mostly Yala 2 (Ukelle Nation) and it is one of the reasons we’ve unanimously agreed to endorse his candidature and work assiduously for his victory and the victory of all PDP candidates in 2023, not just in Yala 2 but the entire Yala LGA.” The group also presented campaign materials to Barr. Goffio.
Barr. Godwin Offiono in his reaction, expressed his appreciation to the group for their thoughtfulness, readiness and for finding his candidature most preferable for the people of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency. He expressed his sympathy with the Ukelle Nation particularly, over the state of their road and security. He promised to offer nothing Short of good representation just as Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom the Governor of Cross River North is doing. He promised to graciously follow the footsteps of the Senator and will not perform less than the Senator because he’s a leader that cares about the welfare of the people and will help him to represent Ogoja/Yala constituents well.
He encouraged the group to equally throw their total support behind Prof. Sandy Ojang Onor, Senator Jarigbe and Dr. Martins Achadu to reclaim Cross River State from its present comatic State.
Finally, Goffio promised fair, equal and progressive representation when elected House Of Representatives member by the grace of God.
