Our attention has been drawn to some fake Facebook accounts bearing the name of the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, created by some unscrupulous elements to defraud unsuspecting public.
It has also come to our notice that the said account is chatting with Facebook users on messenger, demanding cash and promising jobs and empowerment. The Senator and the entire Team Jari dissociate themselves from such criminality.
We advise Facebook users to be guided and mind the account they communicate with because Senator Jarigbe operates one Facebook account with the name “Sen Jarigbe Agom”, and he doesn’t chat with individuals on messenger to demand for money, promise jobs and empowerment items. Beneficiaries of his empowerment are not selected from social media but offline across the five LGAs of the Senatorial District and items are shared in the Senatorial District.
Furthermore, the Senator will not be held liable if any Facebook user is defrauded. We therefore admonish social media users to be vigilant and stop communicating with fake accounts bearing the Senator’s name.
