The General Hospital Ogoja wore a new look after the commissioning event of the 50kva Solar Light project courtesy of the Rural Electricification Agency and World Bank Assist interventions for health facilities in the state.
The event which took off with a brief introduction and protocols by the medical supritendent Dr. Ajogbor, witnessed a welcome ritual to all and sundry for the august and epoch making event whilst stating that this was a dream come true for the hospital.
The Honourable Commissioner For Health, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong who was ably represented by the Director Medical Services, Dr. Stephen Agbor expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Rural Electrification Agency and the World Bank for their epic efforts, dependable support and partnership in ensuring the health facility got a basic intervention as this, which she said has given the hospital a facelift.
Speaking further, the DMS assured the partners that the facility will be put into proper and optimal use for service to humanity harping that it will remain a memorial of their indelible contributions and legacy in the health sector nay the state at large.
Dr. Stephen Agbor unbehalf of the Honourable Commisioner went on to perform the rites of commissioning the 50kva Solar powered system, for the use and service to humanity and the glory of God.
The entire team from the hospital management, the State ministry of health, REA and World bank embarked on a facility tour round the solar light system facility, the electric coverage and the isolative centre.
The event came to a close with the REA agent alongside the Medical Superintendent of the General Hospital Ogoja signing and documenting the deeds of handover and receival.
This again is a giant stride and one of the too numerous to mention achievements of this current administration in the health sector.
