UNGA: President Tinubu Addresses World Leaders, Edu, Others Present.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu delivered one of the most memorable speeches at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York. He was accompanied by the Nigerian Delegation which had The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, among others.

The President’s UN outing was his first since emergence as Nigeria’s leader in May 29, 2023.

President Tinubu’s address which drew applause from other World Leaders bordered on key National issues and concerns affecting the African continent.

Tinubu who is also the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) urged established economies to furnish more public and private sector investment in Africa’s preferred destination Nigeria. He spoke on climate change projects and industries as well as poverty alleviation.

The President called world leaders attention to Nigeria’s eagerness for business and challenged the willingness of the world to engage in mutually beneficial economic partnerships with Africa, enclosing direct investments, export opportunities, and debt relief.

The Nigeria leader harped on the significance of building political conformity around climate change by emphasizing actions that will benefit both the economy and the environment, such as local water management and irrigation projects.

President Tinubu ended his Debate session with a strategic assertion that Africa is not a continent to be avoided or pitied but that which is the key to the world’s future.

Aside from Dr. Edu, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, Governor of Akwa Ibom Umo Eno, Governor of Kaduna state H.E Uba Sani Hon Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tuggar, Honourable Minister for Mineral Resource, Dr. Dele Alake, Honourable Minister of information and National Orientation of Nigeria Mohammed Idris Malagi, Honorable Minister of State for police Affairs Hon. Imaan Suleman among others were also part of President Tinubu’s team to the UN General Assembly General Debate.

The Minister For Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation later attended the Grammy Humanitarian human rights Award where she advocated for Global support to humanitarian crises in Africa and Nigeria in particular.

Present at the event was the President of the Grammy Award Globally and the Chairman of the Grammy Delegation.
