The call by the orphanage homes is coming on the heels of repeated calls by well meaning Nigerians, support groups and international community to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to revisit the issue of suspended Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Her Excellency Dr. Betta Edu. Said: “The reinstatement of Dr. Betta Edu is a matter of urgent and utmost importance which will go along way toward alleviating the high level of poverty and the neglect we are currently witnessing since her suspension as Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, equally, it will foster unity, peace, and stability within Nigeria and world at large.”
The group, under the aegis of Orphanage Homes Sustainable Initiatives, while describing Dr. Betta Edu as “a great Nigerian patriot, a woman of substance, honour and dignity, philanthropist, humanitarian, highly respected and influential fiqure who has demonstrated her commitments to the well-being of the orphans, the less privilege, the masses and Nigerians since her assumption of duty as member of the Federal Executive Council overseeing the actualization of the renewed hope agenda of the present administration, said it would be in the overall interest of Nigeria, Nigerian and global community at large for His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to restore her back to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.”
“During her time in office, she rendered humanitarian supports to orphanage homes across the nation’s thirty six States and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Dr. Betta Edu worked tirelessly to promote social and economic development, and improved living standards for the citizens of Nigeria. Now, we are left at the mercy of God.”
