
On Saturday, 8th June, the senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong was part of the delegation of the 10th Senate on an inspection and tour of the Dangote Petroleum refinery and Dangote Fertilizer plant in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. The $20billion investment is forecasted to generate $28billion annually when fully operational.
The Senate President, HE Senator Godswill Akpabio, who led the delegation, pledged the commitment of the National Assembly towards ensuring indigenous investments, such that Dangote Industries, continue to thrive through the creation of supportive policies and enabling environment.





According to Ekpenyong, it is obvious that there is light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to solving the economic challenges bedeviling the nation. “We will eventually eliminate our over-dependence on the importation of petroleum products.” – he said.
