It was a rain of tributes for the late Elder Alex Odey Nsor, deceased Husband to the Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. [Mrs] Mercy Nsor, who was committed to Mother Earth over the Weekend.
Described for his Meekness, Compassion, and Accommodating nature, the Late Elder Nsor was widely loved even in death as his uniqueness remains a compelling character for everyone.
In separate letters shared by the First Family, His Excellency Senator [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu and his beloved Wife, Her Excellency Rev. Eyoanwan Otu, the State’s Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Former Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Victor Ndoma Egba, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Elvert Ayambem and Members, State Commissioners, Vice Chairman of Ikom LGA, Hon. Maurice Ndome, Ikom LGA Legislature, all Appointees, staff of the local government Council, Current and Past Chairmen of Council, Business Moguls, Major Political Stakeholders, and host of other very important Dignitaries in CRS and beyond, admonished Hon. Pst. [Mrs] Mercy Nsor to be consoled in the good deeds of her late husband and charged the family to build on his legacies at all times.
They noted that man, as an object of God for the good representation on earth, should consider his time while here and live a life worthy of emulation at all times, as death, to every man, is inevitable.
The couple who have been married for over 41 years, shared an amazing relationship, which bore wonderful and intelligent Children and Grandchildren before the untimely demise of Elder Alex Odey Nsor.
His remain was committed to Mother Earth at his Hometown, Okuni Town in Ikom LGA of CRS amid tears and sympathy from Friends, Families, Colleagues, Well-wishers, and Acquaintances.
The Service of Songs Night took place on Friday, the 29th day of November 2024, followed by the Funeral Service and Interment on Saturday, the 30th day of November 2024, and then a General Family and Friends Thanksgiving service on the 1st of December, 2024.
Hon. Mercy Nsor extended her appreciation to the State Governor and his beloved Wife for their show of love and support having come from the State Capital amidst their busy schedule to mourn with her. She also thanked the Stakeholders and Major Political Leaders, her Counterparts from other LGAs, her Vice Chairman, Legislatures, Political Appointees, LGC Staff, Family, Friends, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers, Youths, Women/Men of Ikom LGA, and beyond for the show of Love, Support, and Prayers during this trying moment.
The Funeral was a success, the entire Political Leadership and Dignitaries were in attendance to mourn with Hon. Mercy Nsor and to pay their last respects to her late husband.
