The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. [Mrs] Mercy Nsor, has received the victorious team and champions of the Cross River State Governor’s Cup, Government Secondary School of Ikom popular known as Govisco, with a promise to enhance sports development in the LGA.
Applauding the team for their extraordinary performances, dominance, and disciplinary attitude throughout the competition, Hon. Nsor noted that it was a new dawn for sports development in Ikom LGA, which remains cardinal in her administration’s blueprint.
“I’m thrilled to see our Local team excel in the Governor’s Cup,” she said. “This victory is not just a testament to your hard work and dedication but also a reflection of the council’s commitment to supporting sports development in Ikom Local Government Area.”
She further urged the team not to rest on their laurels, emphasizing that this victory was only the beginning.
“We will continue to support you, and we expect great things from you in the future,”.

Leading other members of staff and students to the Council Office, the School’s Games Master Mr. Akanya Ese Agbor and Games Prefect Master Uwoke Ogochukwu, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman for her unwavering support throughout the tournament, disclosing that it was the motivation behind their triumph.
